BayTEC Alliance Announces Founding Board of Directors
May 20, 2009—Oroville, CA. The BayTEC Alliance, an unprecedented community collaboration aimed at transforming the Oroville region to into a clean technology industrial center, today announced its founding board of directors. Board membership is composed of leaders from the public, private and nonprofit sectors and is reflective of the diversity of the Oroville and Butte County community and economy.
Gary Ott, independent business man, was elected chairman of the board that includes Jon Gregory, president & CEO, Golden Capital Network; Bill Finley, executive director, Private Industry Council of Butte County; Weldon Larson, senior partner/principal at Hignell Development Group; Jim Moll, branch manager, Wells Fargo Advisors: Steve Norman, CPA, Davis Hammon & Co; John Peace, executive director, Oroville Economic Development Corporation; Joan Townsend, administrative assistant to Butte County Supervisor Bill Connelly; Diana Van Der Ploeg, president, Butte College and Paul Zingg, president, California State University Chico.
"This is an outstanding group of leaders representing all parts of our area's economy," said board chairman Gary Ott. "Although we are a diverse group, our cause is the same: to see the Oroville region flourish as the clean tech capital of Northern California."
The mission of the BayTEC Alliance is to help the Oroville region compete aggressively and successfully for jobs, talent and capital and to ensure that the region is a premier place for all people to live, work, play and raise a family. The Board will now preside over a two-year economic renewal process involving a broad cross section of the area's business, government and civic leaders.
